Check every piece separately

HW029 · Laundry and garment care
Check every label and school instruction before sorting, gentle washing and shape-safe drying
Uniform shirts, skirts or trousers, ties, blazers and badges may not share one care method. The care label and school instructions come first. Set aside any uncertain piece and ask the employer to avoid fading, distortion or damage from heat or bleach.

Read the shirt, skirt or trousers, tie, blazer and removable-part labels. Separate dry-clean, hand-wash and non-washable pieces and follow school instructions.

Keep new, dark or possible colour-bleeding items away from pale pieces. Empty pockets, close zips and use inside-out or mesh-bag preparation only when suitable.

Inspect collars, cuffs and knees. Use only garment- and product-approved treatment, test an inconspicuous area, and do not scrub badges or prints hard.

Wash only pieces with compatible instructions. Set temperature, cycle, spin and detergent dose from the garment labels and machine manual.

Remove at cycle end and gently open seams, collars, pleats and cuffs. Do not wring or stretch the garment.

Hang, dry flat or tumble only as permitted. For air drying, use moving air and avoid heat beyond the label; store when fully dry.
