How to Organise Under-Bed and Bedroom Clutter
Clear pathways and ventilation first, then sort, dust, and use suitable storage
Overview
Bedroom storage must not push items into exits, walking paths, appliance vents, or moving bed parts. Clear the route before sorting one small zone at a time.
Tools needed

- Sorting baskets
- Waste bag
- Soft-brush vacuum attachment
- Dry cloth
- Ventilated under-bed cases
- Blank category cards
Cleaning steps

Clear a safe route first
Remove items from the door, bedside path, and emergency route; keep the area well lit.

Remove and sort one zone
Work in small sections and group items to keep, relocate, donate, or discard.

Remove reachable under-bed dust
Vacuum with a soft attachment or dry-wipe safely reachable areas; do not crawl under or lift an unstable frame.

Choose suitable containers
Put clean dry items in correctly sized, handled containers that do not cover existing ventilation.

Return by frequency and weight
Keep frequent items accessible and heavy items low; do not load bed mechanisms or electrical cords.

Check path and ventilation
Confirm the door, walkways, sockets, cords, vents, and moving bed parts remain unobstructed.
