Slip and fall prevention

Block cleaned areas until the floor is fully dry

After mopping or wet cleaning, block the affected route, provide another path, and reopen only after checking the whole floor is dry.

Why it matters

Even after pooled water is removed, a thin cleaner film or damp patch can cause a slip, and shoes can carry moisture onto another floor.

Wrong action

Walking away after mopping and leaving only an easy-to-bypass sign while the household still uses the wet route.

Correct action

Restrict entry from the start of cleaning until the entire route is dry, then personally check before removing the barrier.

What to do

  1. Tell the household before cleaning and provide another safe route.
  2. Use a stable barrier at both ends of the route, not only beside one wet spot.
  3. Check the entire floor and possible moisture on footwear before reopening.

If something happens

After a slip, block the area first. Do not rush to lift someone with a possible head, neck, back, or hip injury; call 999 if serious.
