Cleaning steps
Put on PPE and prepare

Carry and empty safely
Keep the pan covered while carrying it to the designated toilet or disposal point, empty slowly without splashing, and follow the household plan for waste.
Wash then disinfect
Wash the pan, lid, seat and handles first, then disinfect only as directed for that product and care plan; do not use one chemical in place of the other.
Dry, remove PPE and wash hands
Dry and reassemble the commode, remove PPE safely, wash hands with soap and water, and report cracks, stains that remain, or a loose seat.
