- 250 g white radish

- 3 tbsp tamarind paste
- 2 tbsp Fish sauce
- 1 piece red pepper, optional, for colour only

Steps

Step 1
Inspect Prawns
Inspect the prawns; discard any with an off smell.

Step 2
Clean Prawns
Trim feelers, remove the vein, rinse briefly and drain.

Step 3
Prepare Vegetables
Quarter tomatoes and onion, slice radish, trim beans, and separate leafy greens.

Step 4
Boil Water
Bring the water to a full boil over 8–10 minutes.

Step 5
Cook Tomato Onion
Add tomatoes and onion and simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 6
Add Tamarind
Whisk in tamarind paste and fish sauce for 2 minutes.

Step 7
Cook Radish
Add radish and simmer for 8–10 minutes until nearly tender.

Step 8
Add Beans Pepper
Add green beans and red pepper and simmer for 4–5 minutes.

Step 9
Cook Prawns
Add prawns and simmer for 3–4 minutes until curled and opaque.

Step 10
Add Leafy Greens
Add leafy greens and simmer for 2–3 minutes until wilted.

Step 11
Adjust Seasoning
Taste for sourness, add salt if needed, and simmer for 1 minute.

Step 12
Serve
Turn off the heat and serve the soup immediately.
Common mistakes
- Do not add every ingredient at once; follow the sequence so each component reaches the correct doneness.
Tips
Taste immediately before serving because prepared sauces vary in saltiness.
