Six resident-safe steps for the casing and removable filter only
Use this guide only for an exterior and filter that the model manual says a resident may remove while standing safely on the floor. Switch off and isolate power first. Do not disassemble, touch fins, fan, wiring or refrigerant parts, or work at height.

Read the manual and confirm the filter is resident-removable. Stop if a ladder, screws, casing removal or reaching inside would be required.

Switch off as instructed, then isolate the supply at the dedicated switch or plug. If the supply method is unclear, do not continue.

Stand securely on the floor, open the front panel gently and slide the filter in the specified direction. Do not touch fins, fan, wires or internal parts.

Use low suction with a soft brush first. If the manual allows washing, use water or its permitted mild detergent; no hot water, rough brush or unknown chemical.

Shake off water gently and dry flat or as instructed in a shaded ventilated place. No hair dryer, flame, strong sun or refitting while damp.

Confirm the filter is intact, fully dry and correctly oriented, refit it and close the panel, then restore power. Stop and report noise, odour, leaking or fault display.
