How to Clean a Vacuum Bin and Filter

Overview
Vacuum bin, cyclone and filter care varies by model. Switch off, unplug or disconnect from the charger first. Clean only resident-removable parts and identify each filter as washable, dry-clean-only or replaceable; never wet a filter without permission.

Cleaning steps
Isolate power
Switch off and unplug, or disconnect a cordless model from its charger, avoiding the trigger.
Empty the bin as directed
Remove and empty the bin over a rubbish container without releasing dust toward the face.
Clean approved bin parts
Use a soft brush or dry cloth. Wash the bin only if allowed; never rinse the cyclone or motor unless expressly stated.
Identify every filter
Use its location and manual to classify each filter as washable, dry-clean-only or replaceable.

Dry fully and refit
