How to Clean a Child High Chair Safely
Remove approved parts, then clean before sanitizing food-contact surfaces
Overview
A high chair combines a food-contact tray, fabric, harness and moving joints, so one method does not fit every part. Keep the child away and disassemble only as directed. Clean before sanitizing the tray, then dry and reassemble every part correctly.

Cleaning steps
Remove the child and stabilize the chair
Remove the child, food and utensils and place the chair on a level dry surface. Keep appliances off nearby and put every cleaning product beyond children’s reach.
Remove only approved parts
Use the manual to remove the tray, tray insert and any approved pad or harness part. Do not force fixed buckles, hinges or locking hardware apart.
Remove food and wash the tray
Discard food scraps first. Wash the tray, edges and underside with clean water, compatible dish detergent and a clean brush, then rinse thoroughly.
Sanitize the food-contact surface
Only after washing and rinsing, use a method approved by the chair maker and sanitizer’s food-contact directions. Do not guess a concentration or contact time or mix products.
Clean frame harness and crevices
Follow the manual for a damp cloth or other approved method on the frame, joints, harness and pad. Do not soak fixed buckles, locks or non-removable padding.
Dry reassemble and check
Air-dry all parts completely and refit them as directed. Check the tray locks, harness routing and buckle operation and confirm the feet are stable before use.
