How to Clean a Dishwasher Filter and Interior
Remove the filter only as the model manual directs, keep debris out of the sump, and lock it back correctly
Overview
Dishwasher filters differ in number, location, turning direction, and alignment marks. Finish the cycle, switch off, confirm the safe state in the manual, and remove only listed filter parts. Never treat the Bosch or any single-model sequence as universal.

Cleaning steps
Finish the cycle and switch off
Let the cycle finish and interior cool, switch off, and isolate power as instructed. Avoid hot water and parts.
Check the filter design
Use the manual for lower-rack access, filter location, component count, unlock direction, and alignment marks.
Move the lower rack
Pull it out steadily and remove visible large debris around the filter without dropping it into the sump.
Remove the filter as specified
Use only that model’s unlock method. Do not force, pry, or reach into the pump.
Wash the filter
Use running water and a small soft brush; avoid abrasive or sharp tools that can damage the mesh.
Wipe approved interior areas
Use a soft cloth on the door edge and permitted walls without dismantling spray arms, pump, or electrical parts.
Refit, lock, and inspect
Reassemble and lock the filter using its marks, replace the rack, and confirm no tool or debris remains.
