Overview

Kitchen drawers collect crumbs, grease and moisture. Remove and separate utensils, clean the drawer and tray by material, and dry everything fully before safe storage.

Tools needed

  • Clean tray
  • Vacuum crevice tool or soft brush
  • Well-wrung soft cloth
  • Dry cloth

Cleaning steps

Step 1

Empty and separate utensils

Move knives, chopsticks, spoons and small tools to a clean tray; keep blades inward and never grab a bundle of knives.

Step 2

Remove crumbs from the drawer

Vacuum or brush corners and runners without pushing debris behind the cabinet.

Step 3

Clean drawer and tray separately

Wipe in sections according to material; wash a removable tray only when its care directions allow it.

Step 4

Dry fully and return safely

Dry corners and the tray, confirm utensils are dry, then return knives to their fixed safe position.
