Never store cleaning liquid in drink bottles
Keep cleaning products in their original, clearly labelled containers and out of children's reach.
Why it matters
A drink bottle makes the contents look safe to drink. Even a new label may not prevent an adult or child from mistaking it for a beverage.
Wrong action
Pouring cleaner into a water, soft-drink, or food container and storing it beside drinks.
Correct action
Keep the product in its original container with the complete label and return it to a high or locked cleaning cupboard after use.
What to do
- Never transfer cleaner into a drink or food container.
- Keep the original label, cap, and directions.
- After use, store it high or locked and separate from food and drinks.
If something happens
If swallowing is suspected, keep the original container and seek medical help immediately. Call 999 for an emergency.
