  • 4 clove garlic

  • 1 tbsp neutral cooking oil

Steps

Step 1

Grate pear

Peel and finely grate the Korean pear.

Thinly slice onion and mushrooms and cut spring onion diagonally.

Combine grated pear, soy, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic and pepper.

Separate the thin beef slices and coat every piece evenly with marinade.

Cover and refrigerate the beef for ten minutes; do not leave it at room temperature.

Heat one tablespoon oil in a wide frying pan over medium-high heat.

Return all beef, add onion and mushrooms and cook for two minutes.

Toss over high heat for one to two minutes until juices lightly glaze the beef.

Confirm the thickest folded beef slice has reached 71°C.

Fold in spring onion for thirty seconds, transfer to a white plate and serve hot.

Common mistakes

  1. Changing the step order can cause uneven doneness and texture.
  2. Excessive heat or too little time can dry the sauce or leave food undercooked.
  3. Using unwashed tools for raw and cooked food increases cross-contamination risk.
