- English
- Liquid Laundry Detergent
- Bahasa Indonesia
- Deterjen Cair untuk Pakaian (洗衣液)
- Tagalog
- Liquid Laundry Detergent / Likidong Panlaba (洗衣液)
What is it?
Laundry detergent removes soil from clothes. Formulation, concentration, dose, fabric suitability and machine method vary by product and must follow the detergent, garment and machine instructions.
How to identify it
Find laundry detergent, washing liquid, clothing-use directions and dosing instructions on the original label. Fabric softener is not detergent.
- Original label states laundry cleaning use
- Label gives dose and washing method
- Different from fabric softener and bleach
Common confusion
Fabric Softener / Household Chlorine Bleach
Laundry detergent cleans clothes; fabric softener is a rinse-stage fabric-care product and does not replace detergent.
Common Hong Kong household uses
Machine or hand washing only where the product and garment labels permit.
Preparation or handling
Read the garment, product and machine instructions, measure the stated dose and do not double it or mix cleaners.
Storage
Keep closed in the labelled original container, away from children, food and food packaging.
Helper tip
Washer drawer positions vary. Follow the machine instructions and exact product label instead of guessing.
What Ma’am or Sir may say
洗衣液跟樽身份量,唔好落柔順劑格。The employer wants the labelled detergent dose placed in the compartment specified by the washing machine.
